Her Story Breakfast

Featuring changemaker Jill Taylor, Founder and CEO of the HuPerson Project.

Join us for a transformative morning with a visionary who has dedicated her life to exploring the human experience and driving change to enhance our quality of life, from healthcare systems to the corporate boardroom.

Jill Taylor, Founder and CEO of the HuPerson Project, has forged an extraordinary career by pioneering new paths, always anticipating what lies ahead and embracing emerging opportunities. Through her journey, she has faced grief, failure, success, and triumph, turning challenging lessons into powerful catalysts for systemic change. Wherever she has served, Jill has consistently transformed organizations and inspired progress.

In an intimate breakfast conversation, Jill will share her story during a personal interview with our founder and CEO, Liz Hatcher. This is a unique opportunity to connect with a trailblazer and woman of impact in a close and inspiring setting.

Jill Taylor  | The HuPerson Project
Co-founder/CEO

Co-founder and CEO of three businesses, Jill Taylor has devoted her career to fostering unique methods of transformation for individuals, teams and companies. She co-founded The Taylor Group with her mother, Carolyn Taylor, at the forefront of wellness and leadership, helping clients understand the nature of the changes confronting them and how to become new inside those changes. Then as CEO of Burgerville, Jill helped the company navigate COVID with strategic flexibility while strengthening local economies by working with local farmers to the benefit of all. Together with Shelly Cooper and Daniel Goodenough, in 2023, Jill co-founded the HuPerson Project to transform a leader’s awareness and presence, and to open a new structure of thinking needed to navigate the world emerging. Jill’s changemaker spirit was recently recognized as one of Portland, Oregon’s most influential women by the Portland Business Journal.

ABOUT OUR HOSTS

KARA KAZEMBA
ANCORA WELLNESS

Ancora Wellness is an integrative, holisitic health clinic that removes the restrictions and garbage that comes with "cookie-cutter" medical care. When services are referred out, care gets fragmented and siloed, often resulting in multiple goals that may not align with what the client actually wants. Being cash-pay means there's no insurance company dictating what your wellness journey should look like.

We offer naturopathic care, counseling, nutritional support, acupuncture, and cranial sacral therapy.

ABOUT OUR HOST & BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

LIZ GLEIM
EXCURSION TRAVEL

Planning a travel adventure for anyone, anywhere, is an adventure for me. I feel like I get to travel along to whatever the destination may be. Cruising, exploring Europe, visiting Central America - my favorite destination - Costa Rica. Whatever your heart desires.

Recently I left the corporate world with the realization that I leaving my career was not the end but the beginning of doing what I love to do - travel and planning travel. Coincidentally when I was first out of college I was a travel agent for a few years during those figuring it out days.

My family consists of two adult children, a son and daughter. My son is married and they just had a baby girl- another exciting time of my life.  My daughter is my adventurer, she lives in Costa Rica and is a fantastic travel partner.

LEADERSHIP FORUM
Purposeful + Meaningful Leadership Strategy

The monthly Women to Women Network Leadership Forum is a roundtable discussion tailored specifically to women in executive positions within their organizations. The discussions are designed to inspire personal and professional development and foster growth through shared wisdom, new ideas, and perspectives.

The monthly forums offer a safe environment for being genuine and vulnerable, letting you lean into your own strengths and the power of a community of growth-minded and supportive women.

This month's discussion topic: How We Define Leadership.

Everyone will have the opportunity to contribute to the conversation as we explore our roles as leaders, the challenges we face, and how stepping into leadership has impacted us personally and professionally.

Everyone will also have the opportunity to share triumphs they are celebrating or challenges they may be facing. This is a safe place to problem-solve, ask for help, share best practices, and learn from each other!

The Leadership Forums are exclusively for female founders, executives, managers, and owners of companies that are either in the scaling and growth phase, building their operational team, or have a minimum of 5 employees and are in at least their fifth year of business.

If this sounds like you, you are welcome to join us.

ABOUT OUR HOST

SHI CHOONG

EVENT PLANNER SHI, LLC

I am a wedding planner, a process engineer, a foodie and a dog mom. I have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and I was a license-holder and organizer of TEDx events. I am logical, creative, driven, fun and assertive. Living in different countries and states has expanded my palette of global cultures.

I am a Malaysian Chinese, born and raised in Malaysia. My parents left when I was 15, forcing me to be an adult overnight to raise three younger siblings. Growing up in this unique environment, I was in a constant fight-or-flight mindset. As a first-generation college student, an Asian woman, an international student with no family or financial support system, I experienced very strong imposter syndrome. I felt like I had to accomplish this long self-made checklist to prove my self-worth until recently when I realized I don’t need to. I am proud of myself and what I have accomplished. I am proud of who I am.

I love wedding planning and I have found that I am naturally good at it! I have decided to follow my passion and do what I love – I love LOVE! Love is beautiful and love is healing.

I support modern, sustainable weddings. I encourage a supportive and collaborative community that celebrates diversity and encourages authenticity, regardless of our skin tone and who or what we love.

A year ago, I was struggling with my body image and self-esteem. I constantly felt fat, ugly, and not good enough.

In Jan 2024, I have decided I don't want to feel that way anymore. I love to have my photos taken. I am comfortable in front of the camera. I feel beautiful, confident, and myself in front of the camera. That's when I decided to be a lifestyle model. This is a new chapter of my life. I wanted to be a lifestyle model because it reminds me how beautiful I am and what happy looks like.

ABOUT OUR HOST

MIA LIU

WILDSPICE GOURMET CREATIONS

I love turning nutritious ingredients into amazingly scrumptious dishes. With WildSpice, I craft customized organic meals for clients who want to eat well while reclaiming their time and improving their and their families' well-being.

I specialize in plant-forward dishes that are naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, created using modern techniques that maximize flavor and uncover the full potential of natural ingredients in ways you may never have experienced before. It's a great way to get teenagers to enjoy more veggies while removing the dinnertime stress from parents' lives.

My love for food (and travel) has taken me all over the world, from the Caribbean to East Asia. Everywhere I go, I pick up new flavors and inspirations. Now, I get to bring all these exquisite tastes right to my clients' kitchens. I cook with a lot of love and attention to what goes into the meals because I know it matters. The result? Delectable food that's great for your taste buds and your body. Trust me, you can taste the difference when food is made with care.

ABOUT OUR HOST

MCKAILA EGAN
MEDICINE GHIPPSY

I am the creator of Medicine Ghippsy. As an Herbalist and Yoga Teacher, I offer multiple healing techniques teaching wellness for the body and home.

Growing up I faced my own health concerns with digestion and hormonal imbalances. As an adult and stepping into motherhood, my issues became worse. I spent countless hours and dollars on doctor visits and medicines, but nothing helped my body heal. Through my journey I discovered natural ways to strengthen my mind, body & spirit.

Since 2016 I have trained and studied natural healing modalities. I became a certified yoga teacher and graduated from Vital Ways Institute in Portland Oregon, becoming an Herbalist. I found over the years of research, digestion health and hormones are interconnected. Learning positive ways to heal my body has inspired me to share my story. I am here to educate and guide others on ways to create a healthier, holistic lifestyle.

As a CPA for over 15 years and now a licensed commercial real estate broker, I bring a unique blend of financial acumen and strategic expertise to help support my clients in achieving their real estate goals. I’ve always loved the community and innovation of working with small businesses and local property owners and I am deeply committed to fostering meaningful relationships with my clients. I primarily focus on retail and office type properties in the Portland Metro area and I’m also involved in CREW Portland to continue to advancing women in commercial real estate.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT:
MEG RULLI - FLIPTURN CELLARS

Flipturn Cellars celebrates the unexpected flips and turns in life. Owner Meg Rulli’s passion for wine began during her college study abroad in Barcelona, where she discovered the joy of pairing wine with food. This passion grew stronger years later when she moved to Oregon, surrounded by the remarkable wine regions of the Pacific Northwest.

In 2019, Meg pursued her Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2 & 3 Certifications, deepening her fascination with the grape-to-glass transformation. In 2020, without any prior winemaking experience, she took a bold leap and bought 1 ton of Syrah from Yakima Valley. Through learning by doing and mentorship from talented Oregon winemakers, she produced her first vintage, which was released in the summer of 2022.

Flipturn Cellars sources grapes from vineyards committed to regenerative farming. Meg crafts small-batch, minimal intervention, food-friendly wines, inspired by the wines she has fallen in love with during her travels.

In addition to Flipturn Cellars, Meg creates educational wine content and online courses for everyday wine enthusiasts for her brand, Barrel Dork. Outside of the world of wine, Meg is the Co-Founder of the digital advertising & marketing agency, Intentional Spark, and is a devoted dog mom to her lovable Golden Retriever, Noodles!

ABOUT

When Women to Women Network founder and CEO Liz Hatcher took the bold step of launching a new organization for women to connect, collaborate, and grow together, she was stepping into the unknown. The kind of networking she longed for, and other women in her community were asking for, simply didn’t exist. While she may not have known how Women to Women Network would unfold, she knew it would be special.

Fast-forward five years, and this organic gathering of like-minded women has grown into an incredible community of women supporting each other across three states. Liz’s vision has come to fruition in ways she could never have imagined, and the dream-to-reality is still unfolding and evolving based on what women in the communities we serve are asking for.
